Natalia Cardona Sanchez is the founder and recipe creator behind Azúcar Jams, a Philadelphia-based brand dedicated to the art of small-batch tropical preserves.
Natalia’s journey began in Guatemala, where she watched her mother transform leftover tropical fruit from their family juicery into vibrant jams. Later, after her family sought refuge in Canada,
Natalia found solace and connection through two women who welcomed them by teaching them to forage for berries and make jam. These moments of care and resilience became the foundation of her craft.
Today, Natalia hand-stirs every batch in Philadelphia, drawing inspiration from the tropical flavors and vibrant traditions of her Latin American and Caribbean roots and core memories of joy to share a "taste of sunshine" with her community.
