MarvDaddy’s

Catering and Delicious Soul Food

MarvDaddy’s is run by Rita Aka Marrvdaddys and named in honor of her beloved son, Marvin, who was always his mom’s #1 fan and had faith in her abilities to start and grow her own business out of her passion for food.

Unfortunately, Marvin lost his life to gun violence on December 21, 2017. Instead of Rita losing herself, she made a promise to her son to keep his name alive and become a successful culinary business.

Rita has been cooking for years for her immediate family and family gatherings, and then one day she realized she wanted to learn the fundamentals of cooking, so she enrolled at Star Career Academy and headed back to school. She graduated at the top of the class in November 2014. Afterwards, she landed an externship at Manor College, and due to her hard work and dedication was hired full time by Chef Jim Rubio. She had the pleasure of working at several restaurants, including R2L, Bank and Bourbon, and the Moshulu. In every kitchen she cooked in she gained more and more culinary knowledge.

For years, Rita wanted to create a business of her own but really didn’t know where to start. Because of some great people she met along the way — Brandon here at Culinary Collective, Brett at Alt Kitchen, and Ricky at Meals Direct — she was able to turn her dreams into reality and is forever grateful.

Rita, along with her daughter Ashley who has been with her since day one, is now a licensed caterer, business owner, and a vendor for a company that’s constantly growing. She also serves her community delicious soul food and desserts through delivery services like UberEats & DoorDash.

Rita is very excited to be part of the Culinary Collective family!
