Lovette's Spanish Cafe

A Latino Twist to all your Favorite Dishes

Founder Idette grew up in a lively household as one of 10 siblings—and she was only five years old when she discovered her love for cooking. Her journey began when her mom fell ill, and little Idette wanted to make her a comforting bowl of soup. That first attempt was a bit soapy (she didn’t quite rinse the dish soap off the pot), but from that moment on, she knew cooking was her calling.

Soon after, she became the primary cook for her family of ten, preparing meals for her parents and all her siblings. As a child, she loved making classic Spanish dishes like Spanish rice, pastelillos, and other favorites — many of which still make an appearance on her menu today.

Her siblings were her biggest cheerleaders, always encouraging her to take the leap and start her own culinary venture. That moment came one day while picking up her daughter from school in the Arsenal campus. She spotted a sign for the Culinary Collective, looked into it, and discovered it was a kitchen space for food entrepreneurs. It felt like fate—and she took it as the green light to finally bring her vision to life.

Idette’s menu is a delicious blend of homestyle comfort and bold flavor: fried chicken kabobs with plantains, plantain sliders, turkey meatballs, baked pasta, Spanish-style chicken and broccoli, paella, and more.
