Dar’s Cafe is named after Gina’s mom, Darlene, who sadly recently passed away last year. Her mom loved Gina's cooking and always encouraged Gina to start her own business, so finally in October 2023 she did!
Gina learned to cook from her little sister, Tracy, who originally learned from their mother, Darlene. Darlene used to sell meals to neighbors and at a local bar, and Tracy used to help her make them. Gina learned everything she knows about cooking from Tracy. After cooking alongside her for a while, Gina felt confident enough to lead cooking for her family on her own. After that, she cooked for the family every Sunday, and then from there Dar's Cafe was born.
Prior to opening Dar's Cafe, Gina was (and still is) a nurse. Cooking and taking care of people are her two passions.
Dar’s Cafe features soul food including baked macaroni, fried chicken, jerk chicken, collard greens, string beans, fried fish, stuffed salmon, crab cakes, shrimp salad, and more.
You can order your meals from Gina by DMing her for now, but she will soon be available on meal delivery services.
